i've never been one to believe in " ghosts " .

i'm open to the possibility that there may exist something in the afterlife or spirit world- i just don't know what it is.

having been out of the witnesses over 6 years i had my fill of being a jehovah's witness and being told how " scared " i should be of satan or the demons.

gromit your suspicions are wrong. I make no assumptions. I have no idea about what people know or don't know after they die.

Just in update: Mom gave me Grandpa's proclaimers book...

so i told her i do more research and reading from the proclaimers book and i asked her if it would be ok to giver her and have her read the crisis of the consciences.

she agreed.. so we did a little trade off.

i told her i'm thinking about researching and maybe be attending protestant church or something too.. she feels that we have to do what's best and respects my decisions.

Flipper Why would a ghost need you to explain your purpose? Haven't they been watching you?

Voilia what in the world are they afraid of? You mean even on the other side the WTS has the power to deceive? They should be coming back giving you some encouragement if you ask me...... not that you did ask me..... lol

I'm not saying these experiences aren't supernatural. But I find it hard to believe that spirits need us to appease them or provide them with answers. If we need to soothe and calm them then the other side must not be a gateway to a higher existence.

It's not pleasant to have family think of you as an evil person.

I agree poor places........ but I think what everyone is saying (if i may speak for everyone...lol) in part is that the witnesses use that word as a weapon to make someone look bad and to control people's opinion of you. When you learn what an "apostate" is and realize how the word can apply to people other than those who speak against the WTS, the sting is gone. You're free from the implications of that word (as it's used by JWs)

i normally don't go around looking for jws.

after my morning coffee and breakfast taco at jim's, i went over to big lot's to look around.

outside of the store, they have an island where a couple of trees were either saved - or planted - and provide a nice shade during the day.. under these trees, in the shade, was this fella - dressed in nice slacks and a shirt - wearing a tie - reading - or flipping through what appeared to be an 'awake' or a 'watchtower'.

is the concept of the tree of life and knowledge of good and bad anywhere in the bible?

If you really believe that then why are you trying to explain anything? If that were true then we would be aglow with contentment because we have this deeper understanding. And if the explanations are logical, there would be little need for debate. But biblical debates happen all the time because there is so much room for interpretation. Thus my original point that if God wants us to understand him and what he wants he could make that clear in a way that all understand. That shouldn't be too difficult for the creator to pull off.
